A woman had come to my office, complaining to my
secretary as to why the divorce was taking so long.
She wasn't a client, and my secretary asked her
'which divorce? who?" and she called a name...
"Mr. Husband"....
my secretary, annoyed said, "I don't know about any
divorce...." (which of course she shouldn't have done.)
Anyway, I called Mr. Husband and told him about this
loud abrasive female that had come to my office about
'his' divorce.
Mr. Husband was a business client for whom I've done
rather dry matters as contracts and land transfers.
He came to the office, told me that he'd been having
an affair with the woman for years and had told her
he was divorcing his wife, and as she'd seen him come
to my office, claimed I was looking about the divorce.
Subsequently, he told me he'd gone to the gal and
said that I'd quit his case because of her and now he
had to find another lawyer, and it wasn't going to be
easy.
Of course, he dumped the gal shortly after.
