Eating to Feel Better...Advice?
|
|
Like the majority of the population, I don't eat very healthy. It's never been a big issue, but lately I've been really interested in changing my diet so that I will feel better after I eat instead of always feeling full, bloated, and just generally blah. I feel like my digestive system is currently a little out of whack and think it partially has to do with my diet.
My boyfriend and I are college students with little time and little money and we eat out a lot. We eat a lot of pasta, sushi, pizza, toasted sandwiches, and the like. We also eat a lot of meat like lamb and beef.
In general, I want to eat healthier without going to an extreme. Specifically, I want meals that aren't hot and heavy (like pasta or most one-pot meals) or greasy and fried (like fast food or American style dining). Whenever I consider healthier options, I think salad, but I would like other suggestions. We don't have a lot of time to cook meals at home, so I'm looking more for suggestions for dishes when we eat out or things to make quickly at home. Also, we like Asian, Mediterranean, and Indian food if that helps.
Any advice is welcome. Thank you.
