I read your reply and answered on Queen Bee, i think that what you have done is great.
I believe if you re-read what i wrote, you will see i did the same thing for 5 years with my ex-husband's Aunt and suggested the same to that threader, sometimes you have to let people see that you are actually a nice person or good for their son/brother etc...
It is a person with strength that fights through it and "breaks the mould", but if a person is so effected by it, it is also sometimes better to just step back a lot and only step forward on occasions to break the mould, which i believe is what she is doing...
