agnostics don't confess that they don't know. they simply abandon the quest for finding out -

there's a difference. if i stop you on the side of teh road & ask you where a guy can get a beer in your town, you might not know. you would sincerely say you didn't know.

but if i asked the question, then you told me how to get there - and i got lost & drove in circles until i finally threw my hands in the air & exclaimed, "i have no idea where this place is!" - that is the equivalent of agnosticism.

i do know where - you told me where. my honest confession would be that i have been searching in the wrong places and i got sick of looking.

not that i didn't know.
