I personally have never taken those pills, but have some information that might help you. There is a distinctive difference between Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) and a Yeast infection. They are completely different infections.

BV does not cause any itching or irritation and is usually only noticed by it's foul smell and slight greenish discharge. It is most commonly treated with prescription Metronidazole.

Yeast infections do not cause much change in discharge other then a possible thickening. Yeast infections cause moderate to severe itching, redness, and irritation. They are easilly treated with over-the-counter medication such as Vagisil or Monistat.

Some women will experience recurring infections if they are suffering from excessive stress or a ph imbalance.
