Default Birth Control?

Are you on any form of birth control? Many brands of birth control can cause vaginal dryness. Doctors do not always tell you about this side effect and a lot of women never even realize it's the cause. If you are on BC, then I would ask your doc if that is a side effect of the BC. Or, you can look the medication side effects up online yourself.

If you are not on BC, vaginal secretion is directly related to several things. The secretions go through changes with fluctuations in hormone levels (which is why BC will affect this). Women who are still having ovulation can have "dry spells" and then some times "floods" (not to be too graphic). You might try to pay close attention to how dry you are at different times of the month. That could tell you if it is hormone related. Which in some cases, is natural and nothing can be done besides the use of topical aids.

Another possibillity is that it is psychologically related. As a woman becomes more mentally sexually aroused, her body secretes more vaginal fluid in preparation for intercourse. A lot of couples have a tendancy to rush into things. Some women need more time then others to get "worked up". You should try taking more time for forplay as well as trying to make things more of a turn on for you. The more you are in the mood and the more you want it, the more prepared your body will be.

I would also suggest that drinking more water might help. Your body needs a lot of water to function. During sex, you are sweating and also producing more vaginal fluid. If you are not getting enough water, it will show.

Sexual lubrications are also a nice alternative, but choose wisely. I would recommend KY lubrication. Some of the brands packaged in the fancy bottles with all the flavors, bells, and whistles are really not good for performance. The flavored lubes have a tendency to be sticky and dry up faster. If you want to try something other then KY, I suggest buying more then one brand so you aren't stuck in the middle of sex with lube that just isn't working for you.

Hope this helps!
