1. I have noticed the best guys (even the ones that didn't work out) showed up when you weren't looking for them. Be independent and they will come to you.
2.Well most of them I have known were very obvious and even came out and told me. If it isn't obvious I'd say get to know him before you do anything "big" with him, it will show up usually sooner than later. Use your judgement, and if you don't trust that introduce him to your best friend because she will always know!
3. If it was me, I'd just flat out ask, what is there to hide? If you wanna know something just ask it. Sometimes you will never know something if you just dont ask, and even then he still might lie. I dunno I don't have any experience with this
