Default please help anyone

Hello. I am severely allergic to cats. I found out when we got kittens and i had to have an epi shot because my throat, eyes and face swelled after touching the cat. It was strange because we had had the kittens for about three days before this happened. I got allergy tested, and I am allergic to just about everything. My question is I am going to be taking care of my nephew and they have cats. I have been around him and holding him since he was born, I take claritin daily and have for two years. I want to know if it is dangerous for me to be taking care of him, or if it is okay. I heard from an aerobiologist that unless the cat sleeps in his hamper there shouldn't be enough dander in his clothes to produce the effect. Since my problem with cats I have gone to my parents who have an outdoor cat and I have also had my parents here for four days at a time, and I have been fine. I just wanted to know what others think. I tend to be a really nervous person, and I don't want to be nervous around my own nephew. Thank you

Allergies to Cats, is quite common, as well as dogs, you may even be allergic to dust as well.

It's the tiny hairs and also their shedded skin that you can't see that sets you off.

Usually, it is mainly the case, with animals that are allowed to live in-side. The theory is that the owners, should be washing the bed 2 times a week ( where the animal sleeps) and basically vacuming ever day.. Which is a chore and most chose not to do so.

External animals that live outside do not seem to effect alergy sufferers.

Your nephew can not pick up your allergy if that is what you are stating, unless he has the same problem himself.

Well, ensure your clothes you put on are fresh and have just been washed, apart from that, just adore him the way you have from day dot.
