Check it out carefully. Many sinus sprays are addictive. A simple saline solution which you can make yourself is often the best solution to use.
I have had chronic recurring sinusitis for the past 20 years. After countless rounds of antibiotics and 3 CT scans, I was told I needed sinus surgery. After having 2 sinus infections within a month, I found this product. I have been using it for 7 weeks now, and so far, so good. It really helps with drainage and does not have an unpleasant after-taste. I am recommending it to everyone I know.
I think there's a pharmacist fact sheet on there somewhere. I know its OTC cause I have been ordering it online without a prescription. Maybe this will help you, I think it's worth a shot.
I use it every morning and every evening with no side effects (so far). It's says homeopathic on the box so I assume there are no harsh chemicals. It feels very refreshing actually.

I myself used to be congested all the time. Stuffed up 24/7. Only thing that ever worked for me was Otrivin Nasal Spray. But I believe it contained harsh chemicals so I discontinued use. Basically what im trying to say is that simple Saline solution dont work for serious problems like the one you claim to have. But if what you are using works and allows you to avoid getting surgery, then as long as their is no long term side effects then its all good.
It is the springtime of my loving, The second season I am to know. Your are the sunlight in my growing, so little warmth Ive felt before. It isnt hard to feel me glowing, I watched the fire that grew so low - Racheal <3
I used to use Otrivin and what really scared me about it was that I was getting addicted to it. Any slight discomfort and I want to squirt it in my nose. That is when I did some research on the net and switched to a drug free, non-habit forming nasal spray called Sinox Spray.
When you first spray it up your nose, you will feel a slight tingling and wetness, sort of like just spraying some water up your nose. Very soon, your nose will start running/dripping a bit MORE. Sinox nasal spray helps to lift mucus from your nasal and sinus passages. After a few minutes you will notice that your nose is dryer than before. Your nose may still run (drip) a bit, but it will run far less than it was. I have chronic sinusitis. When I first started using this nasal spray I noticed a gradual decrease of symptoms - less mucus, less thick, less yellow/discolored. My spouse also noticed that my snoring condition has improved.
In conclusion, I agree with your point and WildChild's point that a nasal spray should be chosen with care.
Good luck.
Most nasal sprays, OTC and presecription, contain harsh chemicals in very small quantities in order to do what they do.
Regardless of brand, if you choose to use one, it's important to remember the "X".
Bring your left arm up and point towards your right ear, then bring your right arm up and point towards your left ear. This is exactly the way you want to spray any nasal spray...out towards your ears, not up towards your eyes or in towards your nose, in order to protect your septum.
Try frequent use of a Neti Pot, available at most retailers with a pharmacy, during allergy season. A helpful harmless way to keep your sinuses clear and working well.
