Hey Janster,
I checked with my pulmonologist and he confirmed that my son is allergic to pets and that's the reason his asthma triggers. He has given him some allergy meds.
I'm allergic to cats and have asthma and skin allergies but I find taking a daily antihistamine tablet keeps all my symptoms at bay and I let my cats sleep with me and wander where they like in the house with no special cleaning routine.
You can also get a product called Petal Cleanse which you use on the animal's fur once a week and about 90% of allergy sufferers find this stops their symptoms. The only reason I don't use it on mine is because they're very senior and I don't think they need the hassle when it's simple for me to take one little tablet before bed each night. I would think Petal Cleanse would definitely be worth a try for you though before you part with loved pets. If you google it they sell it in countless places online and it's not expensive or harmful to animals.

Hey Janster,
The doctor has put him on Allegra. Hope it helps.
Good.... I took Allegra-D for 10+ years at night time to help stop my snoring. My allergies were more sinus pressure & drainage into my throat.
Weird...but I never got sniffles, sneezes, or watery eyes.
Hopefully that'll clear things up.....and he can breathe & sleep much better.
Good Luck and keep us posted!
Hey Janster,
Thank you so much. Hope to see my kid feeling better. Will keep you posted.
Hey Janster,
My kid is feeling better now. I took him to my doctor to check if his asthma is under control and he said that he has to take a test to monitor his asthma levels. He suggested a test for my kid which is called as "eNO" test. It's a simple asthma test that can accurately measure patient’s airway inflammation, the underlying condition in asthma. This test can be done only at physician's office. The patient will be asked to exhale into a tube connected to a small desktop Insight monitor with a large color screen that acts as the primary user-interface for monitoring asthma.
The patient will be asked to do this a few times. An average of all the readings is then taken. It is a very simple test and most kids do it very easily and some even enjoy blowing into the tube. Based on the patients eNO levels doctors will tune their medication accordingly. I am hearing about this test for first time and I am scared to go for it.
Have you heard about this eNO test? Any information about it?Please help me.
Does anybody have any information about the eNO test? This is urgent. Do let me know ASAP.
This strand is too funny. I agree that the children should not suffer due to the pets - so relocate the children.
I have 2 cavipoos - and I suffer from pet allergies - but found some products that have helped me keep the dogs.
I just posted a note regarding some good luck I've had regarding pet allergies with my 2 cavipoos - to a lady with a post re: dog allergies.
I'm lazy - so the whole bit is on that strand. Bottom line - I tried something called Chrisal Allergy Free and BFF Pet Probiotic Dermal Spray. Found them on line. Been using for about 6 months with great results. *Removed outbound link*
Good luck.
