I figured I'd bring the subject up. A lot of my friends are always asking what are some good brands of makeups out there that won't cause reactions. Brands that you can buy from a drug store, or order online.
My question is, what brands do you use?
I'm a personal fan of Mary Kay because dermatologist recommended it and its been the only makeup that I haven't had a reaction to.

I am MCS (multiple chemical sensitive) Mary Kay is loaded with parabens and perfumes, I can't imagine using it. Nor would I use Clinique for the same reason. There are an increasing number of options for people who are sensitive. Origins is plant based and paraben free as well as free of other general irritants. Most health food stores carry a couple of lines of natural skin care and cosmetics, try checking there.

I am always suggesting to use Natural and herbal products for makeup. Facial with Sandalwood, Turmeric is much beneficial instead of using any other products.

    My fave brands are

RMS Beauty: created by a famous make up artist who suffers from MCS. The ingredients are all raw, organic (though she prefers not to use the term since many brands cheat with the term) and perfume free. I can't live without her Muse lip2cheek, Uncover Up in 22, and Illuminizer. I was lucky enough to get my make up done by her (for free!) right after being diagnosed. It was such a treat!! I ended up buying most of her range.

Dr. Alkaitis: 60% of what we put on on our skin is absorbed into the body. They basically say that our products should be safe enough to eat. I love the edible grade almond oil make up remover and the shampoo is great!

Strange Invisible Perfumes: did you know there's not ONE natural ingredient in perfumes nowadays? SIP is made from real flowers and grape derived organic alcohol only. They smell beautiful and I always get compliments, but they're super expensive so I only have one!

Hemp Organics: I love their lipsticks. No perfume, just the mica/carmine, and organic oils inc hemp/jojoba.

Coastal Creations: make super pure shampoo, body wash and make up. They're listed as the number 1 safe cosmetic brand in the world! RMS is also on the list.

I don't wear any foundation any more, and my skin has never looked better! I use a soft loofa/wash towel on my face and body (no soap). I've had rashes all my life that I thought were just from food. Not so! It was cosmetics and bath products. I know it sounds gross not to use soap, but the body cleans itself. And the loofa/cloth really gets rid of the top layers of skin. I also go do moroccan baths once a month where I get scrubbed down within an inch of my skin with sea salt and a very rough loofah!
