Uhmm...Ibuprofen I take for pain relief only. It has NEVER helped in any sort of colds or allergies. The only thing we have here is a generic brand of Benadryl, some of those Breathe Right Strips (that don't help), Vicks (don't help), and then Nyequil, Theraflu stuff which I take at night to help me sleep even though I've woken up in the middle of the night the last two nights and then other stuff for colds that has never helped me.

Today I'm coughing a bit from all the mucus running down into my throat. Having a hard time inhaling deeply, still can't smell or taste anything.

If you have some sort of allergy (especially environmental like dust or pollen) taking an anti-histamine like Nasonex, Benadryl, Claritin, or Reactin will work. It may not be a complete decongestant or 100% relief or a long lasting effect but there should be some type of relief, major or minor. I suggested the simple ibuprofen because it is an anti-inflammatory and if you have no allergies then maybe it is some inflammation that is causing the stuffiness and other symptoms. It would also help with any general aches caused by the stuffiness and so forth. If nothing else works you will need to see a doctor and possibly get some antibiotics.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

I've never had to go to a doctor for any sort of cold like symptoms.
Tonight I am feeling better. The stuffyness isn't as bad and I'm starting to be able to taste stuff again out of two days not being able to. Got to sit out in the sun today so that might've helped me a bit. Already took some ibuprofen today for a headache that has already come back.
We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Not positive it was allergies nor am I positive that it was a cold so who knows.
