    Default Allergies or a cold?

This year has been total bad luck for me it seems. I'm normally never sick during a year but this year I've been sick twice so far within 2 months and it really sucks.
This morning I woke up to a sore, scratchy throat and my nose completely plugged. Earlier it wasn't so bad but now my nose is going INSANE and is completely plugged and red around it from me blowing my nose like crazy. The plugged up feel goes from one side of my nose to the other every now and then and then sometimes settles in both nostrils.

My fiance had the same thing a few days ago and his lasted about a week but he was stuffy in his nose as well as in his head. The past two colds I've had included coughing, sneezing, stuffy head, etc. I can't tell if this is a cold I've got or just really bad allergies. My mom woke up this morning really stuffed up and had the same thing with stuffyness switching sides all day.
I will say that it's been raining here for about the past week and today was the first day it's really warmed up at all.
What do you guys think? Allergies or am I getting sick again for the 3rd time this year?
Any home cures for a stuffy nose? I'm desperate here

Take some benadryll. if it is an allergy it will help, if it is a cold it won't do much.

Benadryl doesn't work for me period. The ACTUAL name brand Benadryl just knocks me out and doesn't do a thing.
I still feel horrible today. I didn't sleep hardly at all last night and got the headache to prove it even though I took some Theraflu night time stuff to help me sleep.

Try some other allergy med. The point is that if it's an allergy it will reduce the reaction to some degree, if it's a cold it won't. Then at least you'll know what you are dealing with.

Fiance gave two allergy pills yesterday that didn't touch it.
I can't tell if its a cold or not because it's just in my nose. I'm not really stuffed in my head or anything like that. I don't have a sore throat or am I coughing soo I've got no idea lol

Allergy responses are caused by your body's sensitivity to it's own histamine, produced in an inappropriate response. Allergy meds are anti-histamines. If they don't help then you have either an infection or a virus.

No allergy pills help me and they never have.
I don't have the normal symptoms of a cold that's for sure. I've been sneezing like crazy for the last 2 hours so I am leaning towards allergies.

I can't use Nasal Sprays. They give me tremendous headaches.
I took two generic brand benadryl pills earlier today that knocked me out for a while but I don't feel any better.

Then try an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen.
