Maybe you accept it and most smokers do know it's not a healthy thing to do but I've been flamed, insulted, and verbally attacked online and off by smokers when the topic comes up and I point out how bad it is for some people who have even extremely minor asthma. I don't even do it in an accusatory way I simply state that cigarette smoke is one of the few things that sets off my asthma (cold, cigarette smoke, and the dust from dirty grains like the bulk oats bins we used to get for horses are it) and other people's respiratory problems so I would prefer it was not allowed in public areas. They all think other pollution sources are so much worse and use it to justify their "right" to smoke where ever they want. I don't care that people smoke, I don't care if they chew tobacco, I even think all drugs should be legalized.. I just don't think it should be done where it can impact people who don't want to smoke. That opinion is enough to get me hanged in most situations where this topic comes up.Your statement that "What frustrates me is most smokers will not accept what smoke can do to some people. They compare it to being less than car exhaust or other things." is not true, I always knew smoking was bad - it was just an addiction that was hard to break, and most smokers will admitt it's not good.

Because I'm addicted, quick before I get in the car, and the look of discust from people? Yep, should be enough to stop me but for what ever reason, even though I am one of the most strong willed, I eat healthy mostly as well, I find reasons, stress mainly....
