for years the moment the weather changes to the coldness that is winter I catch what I thought was a cold that lasted most of the winter. The other day I was watching dr oz and he was talking about winter allergies so turns out that's what my sickness is. Any one know of anything that would help soothe my winter allergy?

With many airborne allergies, your body's reaction to them generally begins in the sinuses. So it's important to keep your sinus cavities free of polutants while preventing them from drying out.

If you did a thread search on Allergies, you'd find lots of hints, pointers and tips there.

Let me encourage you to purchase a Neti - Pot or Nedi - Pot from your local drug store or pharmacy. They have become very popular so they are readily available.
Learn to use it per the directions on the packaging and use it often. If your nasal passages dry out or you notice blood in your facial tissue after blowing your nose (due to dryness) dab a cotton swab in petroleum jelly and lightly coat the inside of each nostril.

Of course, all of the above is based on the assumption that your winter allergies are airborne and not some other form.
