    Poster of the Month
Congratulations to "housewife",our August Poster of the Month! She has contributed 203 Posts!! I have read many of her posts and see that there may be some members who feel that her posts are controvercial. I want everyone to know that we welcome people of all races, religions, and beliefs as long as everyone behaves respectfully and peacefully towards each other. I feel that "housewife" brings great diversity to our forums and we want to thank her for that.

For those who don't already know, the more you post, the more features and recognition you get with Women's-Health.com. Some of the added bonuses are a custom user title, HTML allowed in signatures, and a reputation boost. For more information on Poster of the Month, click here.

    Tip of the Month
Can't get to sleep at night? Feeling restless and anxious once you finally doze off? Here are some tips to help with those night time woes!

  2. Avoid food and drinks that contain caffiene or excessive sugar. Things like Pepsi, coffee, tea, chocolate, candy, and things of that nature are known to increase blood flow, heart rate, brain activity, and anxiousness. You should avoid them completely if possible, but if you just have to have them, keep it to early in the day. The sugar and caffiene can stay in your body for many hours and keep you up all night. They are both said to cause an increase in dreaming, nightmares, and sleep walking.
  3. Avoid thinking about work, things you need to do the next day, or anything that will get your brain going just before bed. You will find it hard to turn off the "ticker" once you get it going. Instead, do all your heavy thinking at least an hour before you even think about going to bed.
  4. Be sure to keep a regular sleep schedule. Make sure you get up and lay down about the same time each day and night. It is important to get the same amount of sleep each night. Your body has what is called an "internal clock" and it runs off of your sleep schedule. If you confuse it or stress it, then you will start to feel bad as time goes on. It is equally important to get at least 7 hours of sleep each time. Most people need 8 hours to feel fully recharged, but there are some who need only 7 so make sure you are doing what feels right to you.
  5. Eliminate distractions in your room such as televisions, radios, and pets. You may not realize it, but studies show that these two things can cause many sleepless nights due to the sounds and movements they make.
  6. Even though you are asleep, your brain is still perceptive to what is going on around you.

    Question of the Month

    Q. Can my birth control be lowering my sex drive?

    A. Yes, it most certainly can! Many women do not know this, but birth control is a definate culprite of the dreaded loss of sexual libido. I am not sure why many women do not know this because the doctors should be making it clear that this is a side effect. I also do not know of ANY birth control that does NOT list loss of sex drive as a side effect. So if you just don't feel "frisky" anymore and can't figure out why, you might want to take a closer look at your birth control.

In addition to the loss of sexual appetite, birth control can also cause a decrease in natural lubrication. That alone can impact your sex life.

If you think your birth control could be causing these problems for you, the only two solutions are to try different brands of birth control to see if one works better for you, or to stop taking it completely.

    Smile Thank you

    Thank you women’s health.com
I am glad being a part of this great website; I enjoy sharing my ideas and thoughts with others despite our differences in some topics. I know that the administration was not happy with some of the discussions that I was involved with which made me wonder whether this forum is fair or not, until I received this privilege which is an evidence that we are all equals.

I will do my best to help others, even though I don’t guarantee me being as active as I have been lately this summer due to my new job that will start soon.

    Regards,
    Housewife (Nadia)

You are most welcome! We really do appreciate your contributions and as I mentioned to you earlier, it wasn't that we had a problem with your views or opinions, it was just your choice of words. We all know how easy it is to get frustrated and say things that we probably shouldn't. You were not the only person who was warned about that thread that day so please do not feel singled out. We just have to remind everyone to be respectful of each other from time to time.

Congratulations on the new job! Hope we still see you around!
