Default Tips from a Licensed Cosmetologist

H!! I am licensed and I have a few tips...Let me start off with hair colour. To get the colour off your skin w/little to no staining-when you are ready to rinse the colour out of your hair get some shampoo and rub it into your scalp, around your hairline, ears etc., basically anywhere it has touched your skin. Make sure you do this BEFORE you rinse-this does not change the out come of the colour but it will help to reduce any staining. Once the water touches the colour it seems to "set" it.

If you are using bleach water will stop the action of the bleach.

Finally just because you buy it in a salon does NOT mean it is better!!! I personally prefer using natural products(because of my sensitivities to chemicals), my personal favorite is Nature's Gate Organics.

If you have any other questions I would be happy to try to answer them for you, also I will continue to update as I think of other things...

One more thing I just thought of, when you are dealing w/colour remember the colour wheel-i.e. red cancels out green and visa versa!!! Also if you don't know ask-the combination of hair and colour can be VERY unpredictable!!!

I have naturally dark brown hair but went blonde last summer. I've been dying it dark brown for months now and it always fades away and gives me this brassy reddish/brown color ...almost like the blonde is trying to come back lol this looks horrible with my dark roots

what should I do?
