Default thick hair

my hair on my head is too thick. I mean, to wear I can't put it in ponytail because the band will just break.

How do I make it thinner? Is there a permanent way to do that? Or do I just keep having to go to the salon and have my hair thinned out with the special pair of scissors they use?

Whatever you do, don't do it yourself, because a few years back I had try to thin my hair out with a razor, and I really messed myself up. So go to a salon, and ask them to thin it for you, to be on the safe side!

just get a bunch of layer from someone who knows what they are doing, it will help distribute the weight and make it feel lighter. I have super thick hair naturally, started getting it layered a few years back and havent had a problem with hair ties since.
is your hair curly or straight?
