Exclamation my frizzy thin(once straight) hair is going curly?!

Hi everybody

well.. i have a problem! and it's quite a long story:
up to 12 years of age my hair was SUPER healthy and thick
and shiny and a bit wavy until i had a haircut in thailand that
changed my life(my hair XD) completely in a very bad way. it became
really thin, had split ends really often and is very brittle. now, it has
gotten better already since this was like 3 years ago or something,
but it STILL hasn't fully recovered! and i have tried a lot of things!

not only that though, it's now starting to go curly too! i look like an alien
or something, because the bottom of my hair is quite straight but
on my head it's kinda going curly(now you can imagine how odd that looks haha).

i really need help with this.. i dont want to live like this anymore . does anyone know anything that can make your hair stronger and also healthier/shinier and thicker? and also make it grow faster?
i am VERY grateful for any advice i can get!
THANK YOU SO MUCH in advance!

Tanya

well have you been doing something different to it?? ie: using a flat iron on it? blow drying it?? those things are rather damaging to your hair. they dry it out. also dying it a lot, ESPECIALLY going a lighter shade than your natural (becuase you're like bleaching it) is really damaging to do it all they time.

my sister had a similar problem. she always had straight hair, but when she like sixteen she got a SUPER short hair cut, and when her hair grew out again, it as curly. women's body chemistry changes, like what is it....like seven times throughout their lives?? every fourteen years?? (or so i've heard, someone please correct me if im wrong! ) so your hair texture could just be changing too. and after having children it will change.

besides, i love curly hair!! i'd kill for it!! haha mine just stays straight with a very slight wave....isnt it funny how people with straight hair wish they had curly hair, and people with curly wish they had straight?? lol curly hair is very sexy!! a lot of men love it!

as far as the products.......im not really sure......there is a product called Mane and Tail that helps hair to grow faster........my mom uses it. i'd suggest going to your salon and asking them what you can do to repair your hair. they can direct you in the direction of products.

good luck!

Hi reilu!
Firstly thanx for your answer!

That's kinda the weird thing XD I don't use any hair things at all(like blow drying or ironing.etc..). im not even in possession of any of those objects haha). I always wash it with conditioner and also don't even brush it after i showered(not until it's dry).

Haha! XD ohh yea. well it was kinda the case with me too.. i wanted curly hair like crazy once.. now that i have it(well half anyway =S) i don't want it anymore xD. it's super odd. also i never even knew that happend! so people's characteristics actually change?? :O wow haha.
hmmm haha =P i guess curly isn't too bad after all.. but i want my straight hair back! D=

Hmm, ok, thanx ill give Mane and Tail a try =] i hope it'll help my hair grow faster so there's more weight in it ^^.

thanx for you advice!
it has helped a LOT so far!

hmmmm....that is odd that you dont use anything on your hair and its like that....

i have no clue then!! haha im no beautician (but my sister in law is) so i dont know a WHOLE lot about hair, jsut what she's told me.

im about nintyfive percent sure that womens body chemistry or something like that changes....i heard that a couple times (again, if im wrong, someone please correct me cuz i'd like to know if im actually correct! haha)

and getting your straight hair back...your only options are straightening it with a flat iron, which i wouldnt suggest doing cuz you are having problems already...or you get it chemically straightened, which still isnt good for you hair, AND it very expensive!!

when you got that hair cut, did you get anything else done to it?? like any dye or anything? do you dye your hair???

again, the best advice i can give you is to go to a salon and talk to the beauticians. go to a couple and get different one's opinions on what products would work best. they know hair!! (or at least they should! haha) and it wont cost you anything to ASK. the only money being spent will be if you choose to buy a product. but i would ask a few different places and compare! keep me updated! lol

Wink

Hi Reilu! Thanx again for your answers and advice and sorry I'm replying this late(my school has the final end exams, in which if i pass them I FINALLY get outta school! YAY lol).

Haha =P it is a big mistery to me too lol. I dont know how that could have POSSIBLY happend to my hair haha =P.
All I did when i cut my hair then was cut it. I didn't dye it, perm it, straighten it.. etc =P i blow dried it but i dont think that was the cause for all this terror. Also, I think that that thai woman was a little bit inexperienced (since it was just a little hairdresser shop by the streets anyway =P) and she used this worn blade for thinning out hair =S. I think that might have caused my hair to go light and then bad/curly >.< which i still don't understand because my hair was always really quite strong..etc =\

maybe i did in a way have a 'body change' or so.. i guess ill have to live my life curly from now on =O lol ahh.

Thank you for taking your time to help me once again ;D
