Mshayes82: your hair needs to be trimmed a bit to rule out split ends...maybe you can try using Mane & Tail conditioner...use it lavishly on your hair....another is use freshly grated coconut milk...put it on your hair, massage thoroughly on hair and scalp...keep it overnight...just wear a night cap so it wont soak through your pillow...in the morning, rinse off with lukewarm water first then apply shampoo then rinse and conditioner (use a lot of these)....dry naturally by combing till it gets a bit dry...

    hope this works for you

My natural hair is worse than that trust me. At least your frizz has some sort of definition... my hair is just a ball of poof. its not straight, wavy or curly. Just poof. However, I've noticed its easier to make my hair curly than it is to straighten it because its too thick. Even the best of flat irons give me a coarse texture when straight. So what do i do? I towel dry my hair and use mouse to 'force curl' my hair. Towel drying is best because blow drying only dries it out even more- causing frizz. I use a fairly generous amount of mouse and scrunch my hair with my hands. After this I twist my hair a little bit and create this ugly messy sort of bun with the mouse applied and while the hair is still semi-damp. It takes a few hours for the curls to hold their place in this messy bun [about 3 hours] so if you do it overnight it works better so that way it will be all set in the morning. Its the only way I do my hair every other method has failed miserably.

Also, try to limit brushing your hair to twice a week. Brushing causes the definition of the curls to be lost. [But please... shower and condition daily limit shampoo use also]

What my hair looks like when its done: (I'm the curly one)

Default beautiful hair takes some time

if it's one thing i know how to do..it's my hair. I have hair just like yours and I've been learning new ways to do my hair since i was like 7. First, get a few inches cut off. This will give you a fresh start. When you take a shower, make sure you use conditioner. A lot of people say that skipping shampoo will help with healthier hair...but I just can't skip it. And it really hasn't seemed to make a difference. Brushing your hair in the shower while you have conditioner in helps. Also, you want to make sure that if you're planning on styling your hair using a flat iron or curling iron that you wait at least 5 minutes before applying any heat to your hair after a shower. Sometimes I'll take a shower at night, brush my hair, then go to bed. This way your hair will dry naturally and there won't be as many knots in it when you wake up. Then I straighten it will a flat iron. Also a good tip for curling your hair is...instead of letting your hair fall from the culing iron, gather the curl in the palm of your hand (carefully because it does get really hot). when the curl is gathered, clip or pin the curl to the top of your head. make sure it's secure. When you've finished curling all your hair (which should remain up in the clips or pinned up) wait at least three hours until you remove them. this will let your curl set and stay nicer, longer =). i usually curl my hair at night, clip them up, then go to bed. I'll wake up about an hour early, take the clips out and then just get ready like normal. I wake up about an hour early because i've noticed that my hair gets super culry when i do this, so the hour will allow the curls to relax alittle and not be so springy. If you need more help about ways to curl your hair, I suggest you go to youtube.com and check out what some of the girls do there.

    some tips from me

    1.ensure hair is naturally dried.

    2. Ensure your hair is completely dry before you step out

When wet hair is exposed to direct sunlight, it can get damaged. It might result in hair fall and discolouration.

    3. Avoid hair dryers and hot curling tools. Try a desi trick!

Hair dryers and hot curling tools heat up your hair and tend to make it dry.

If you really want to go for the curly look, braid your hair when semi-wet.

This will settle into beautiful waves when dry.

    4. Be careful with those hair serums

Do not overuse shine products to control frizzes -- they often contain silicone that can coat your hair after just a few applications and can prove harmful.

    5. Swim safe and use the sun to your advantage!

A summer swim can be blissful. But chlorinated water can play havoc with your hair.

To prevent damage, wet your hair with tap water before you swim. The more wet your hair before you swim, the less salt water and chlorine it will absorb.

After the swim, rinse out the chlorinated water. And comb a dollop of deep-conditioning treatment on your hair. Let the heat of the sun help the treatment penetrate.

My hair is as long as yours, and I always had the same problem. I have now completely changed my regimen and love my hair. Although it will only get better as all the damaged hair evetually grows out. I cut a half inch off the bottom of my hair every month to help with this.

First of I threw away all my brushes, blow dryer, shampoos and conditioners. I do still use my chi straightner because it will take up to a year for my length of hair to reach its best state of health.

I only use a wide tooth comb to brush with, have started using eqyss MEGA-TEK rebuilder as an over night leave in 3 nights a week, and wash it out next morning with WEN conditioning shampoo. my hair is no longer dry and frizzy but remember it takes time to repair and heal once you stop using harsh shampoos and stying products that strip your hair.

Personally i think that your hair needs a good cut and condition, especially if you regularly use a hairdryer ...
