Everyone is different but in my experience, yes, it can make you look older. I've tried several different brands of mineral powder, concealer and blush all with the same result. It seems like it settles into the fine lines and exaggerates them... not a great look for me. I'm back to liquid undereye concealer for the dark circles (the bane of my existence ) with regular ole powder blush.

hmmm I use bare minerals, and now I'm wondering if I should switch. I am very self conscious about how I look to begin with and don't wanna use anything that may make me appear to look older then I already am.
Any suggestions? Also I will only use make up that is not tested on animals.

In my opinion I think powder foundation does the opposite!
I use Cose brand that I buy directly from my beautician.

Mineral powder with the right prep (good moisturizer and concealer) just glides over the skin and COVERS blemishes and lines that we like to cover up.
Being irish and VERY freckly my face gets blotchy from all the excessive freckles and the powder clears that right up. It's my best friend.

If anything in my opinion powder doesn't make you look any older than other foundations would.

If you are really worried about it, I would get a lotion that has skin firming elements in it. Put a thin layer of this thoroughly on your skin before you apply anything on your face.

Liquid foundation acts just like cream shadows if you've used them. As the day wears on the liquid will settle into the creases of your skin EMPHASIZING them. So definitely go with the powder. It's also a fresher and less heavy way to go.

Mineral makeup is less harsh on the skin over time. So if you use it for a while it is capable of making you look younger. The health of your skin is more important in the long run because healthy skin is pretty skin. I suggest bare minerals. I have used it for 3 years not and could never go back to liquid makeup again. It wont sink into the lines unless you cake it on, or use to much. Plus the finishing powder really helps with pore size and visible lines.

I have heard that the mineral foundations have something called micro-minerals and are bad for your skin. However, I have just had a look on the web and have seen some good things and some bad things. Like all make-up.

for me mineral make up does make you look "mature" but not necessarily older. Maybe you just have to hydrate your skin so that it will exude softness and look more youthful. try consuming about 10 -12 glasses of water a day and add more when the weather is hot.

I use Nude by Nature on top of my liquid foundation and a finishing mineral veil which I find gives an airbrush finish. My problem is around the eyes (fine lines and dark circles) and I try to avoid putting any powder around there at all. I definitely recommend this brand, its brilliant and has no junk in it.
