    Default Cleansing for Oily Skin

An oily skin, as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. The excess oil causes the pores to become enlarged giving the skin a thick, course look.

As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film, that needs to be removed daily. If this is not done, various problems associated with only skins set in.

By considering the characteristics of a greasy skin, we can adopt a proper cleansing procedure. Due to the excess secretion of oil, skin always looks shiny and toneless. The enlarged pores give it a thick texture and make the skin prone to blackhead formations, leading to pimples and acne.

Blackheads are formed when oil collects and hardens in the pores of the skin. Not only does oily skin attract more dirt, but dead cells are continuously being shed by it. Dirt, oil, sweat wastes, stale make-up and decomposed cells tend to clog and block the pores, giving the skin a dirty appearance.

What makes daily cleansing even more important is that, in many cases, the oil glands further stimulated to excrete oil. This can happen when harsh cleansing methods are followed or when the skin is subjected to excessive steam or heat.Even a diet containing excessive fats, carbohydrates and sugar can cause increased secretion of oil. The daily cleansing method helps to lift the dirt and waste matter, decrease surface grease and help the skin to function better. This, in turn, would help the skin to look fresh and stay healthy.

When we adopt a cleansing procedure, we should keep a few basic aspects in mind. First, the surface film of oil and dirt must be removed. Secondly, the pores must be free of accumulated grease, so that blackheads are discouraged. Thirdly, the texture of the skin should improve. All this should be achieved without creating an alkaline environment on the skin as this would leave the skin predisposed to bacterial attacks. A healthy skin is slightly acidic. This natural acid mantle must be protected or restores.

This aspect is particularly important, as most cleansing methods can upset the normal acid-alkaline balance of the skin. In their efforts to remove surface oil, people with greasy skins wash their face too often with harsh alkaline soaps, destroying the natural acid mantle. When it comes to choosing products for cleansing, thick creams and gels are taboo. These cosmetics would actually cause pore-clogging. Even liquid cleansers are not really effective, especially when the skin is prone to blackheads. The products that are used are therefore as important as the methods that are followed. The ideal cleansing routine a one that includes two separate procedures.

First the skin should be washed with a medicated soap, using lukewarm water. This helps remove surface oil and dirt. Special non-alkaline soaps in cream form, are available and have been used with success even on skins affected by acne. These non-oily products contain herbal ingredients that actually restore the acid mantle. This skin should be rinsed with water. Once the skin is cleansed of surface grease a pore-cleansing method should be followed. This is based on a gentle derm-abrasive action which cleanses the skin of dead cells and dislodges hardened oil from the pores.

A mixture of beauty grains and skin tonic is rubbed gently on to the skin. It is left to dry and then rinsed off. This procedure has helped even in cases of stubborn blackheads, which are either removed or loosened. Daily cleansing, in this manner, alos helps to discourage blackheads being formed.A circular motion should be used to rub the grains gently, concentrating on the nose and chin areas. This stimulates the skin, removed dead cells and unclogs the pores. The skin tonic has a rose base which has a healing action and also helps to tighten the pores and refresh the skin.

Gradually with time, the pores shrink, the texture improves and the skin acquires a smooth, translucent look. It also improves circulation, giving the skin healthy glow.Whatever the skin type, it is bound to benefit from an appropriate cleansing routine. It is only through proper cleansing that problems like acne can be avoided. Deep pore cleansing helps in improving both the texture and colour of the skin, apart from correcting the imbalances.

Taking proper care of the skin is basically a matter of awareness of the right and wrong procedures that one can adopt. In fact, it is better not to cleanse the skin at all, rather than employ the wrong methods. Both neglect and abuse spell death to skin beauty, and the choice depends on you!

Hello wewinwin, you can try this face pack for your skin:
    Almond powder — 2 tsp
    Curd — 2 tsp
    Coconut oil — 1 tsp
Mix all the above and apply with massaging strokes all over face and neck. Wash off after five minutes with milk and then splash some cold water.

In any treatment for oily skin, the most fundamental and key step is to properly cleanse the skin. Proper cleansing involves the removal of excess surface oil from the skin without removal of lipids or oils within the skin. These lipids are necessary for healthy skin and need to be retained. If too much oil is removed out of the skin, then this will simply make the oily skin problem worse because the sebaceous or oil glands get stimulated to overproduce oil. A good cleaning of the skin also prevents pores from getting clogged and kills acne-causing bacteria thus preventing acne blemishes from appearing.
