    Default Skin Health Maintenance

    Hi,
I am 30 and need advice on my skin care/skin health maintenance.
I used to have acute acne problem in my teen-age years. I still have breakout sometimes. I had used almost every single thing on m face to get rid of acne. My skin has lost the smoothness. I understand I cannot make up for the past. But is there any way I can take care of it from now on. I mean so that my skin looks soft/fresh.

Also I have kind of black circle around my lip and chin. I think I have combination skin. Can you please help me with these all?
And suggest me a good skin care product with the ways to use them properly.
    Thanks

The best way of maintaining good skin health is by drinking lots of water.

I have used a Chinese facial cream for about 3 years. I went online to re-order and found out that it has been banned in my country as it is laden with Mercury! (man, I've been exposed to it!)

I've tried Estee Lauder creams, but I'm allergic to them, so I resorted to using extra virgin coconut oil as facial cream. I exfoliate once a week with an apricot anti - acne scrub it has salicylic acid. This works for me... I don't use make up everyday, btw...

It sounds like you may have some skin pigmentation issues, you may want to try M2 (formerly known as MaMa), which helps to exfoliate the skin and help speed up cell , turnover. They have 2 types, 12% and 20% strength, depending on your skin sensitivity.

As far as cleansers go, only use it if you have to remove makeup, since it will only dry out your skin, try something very basic like Purpose cleanser which is soap free, it can be found at any drug store. I personally really like and Use La roche posay effeclar foaming gel, its soap free, ph balanced and perfect for acne prone skin. I have very sensitive, combination skin and this is one of the few that doesent dry out or break me out.

Drink water, plus eat lots of foods with vitamin E. Nuts are a good source.

Lots of water, definitely, and have you ever tried anything with alpha hydroxy acids? Products with AHAs can be expensive, but I've recently started using fresh lemon juice (citric acid is an AHA) on my skin with pretty good results! It's really helped clear my pre-menstrual breakouts that I always get, and it also can help with hyperpigmentation. It'll sting like anything when you put it on, but only for a few minutes. If it's too bad, try diluting it with some water.

Just don't use the "ready-made" lemon juice from concentrate - a lot of the good stuff is taken out of it then. I just squeeze a lemon through a strainer to get the pulp and seeds out, and apply it with a cotton pad. It's made my skin incredibly soft and bright, and it's dirt cheap!
