Question do I HAVE to go back to my natural color?

I have been dying my hair blonde since I was 18 and im 24 now, first I started off with caramel highlights and its progressed with a golden blonde and then i wanted it platinum blonde to silver blonde back to platinum. I have been to many different salons all charge outrageus price $170 to $90 just for a root touch up and my roots grow so fast I need to get it done weekly but I can't afford it.

I have tried to find a hairdresser to get me the professional products and teach me how to do the roots so I can do that weekly and then go the salon once and awhile. All hairdressers have told me if something goes wrong they will lose their licensce. My other problem is it would be hard to do a good job of your own hair especially something that involves bleach because I have resulted in a lot of breakage. They say you shouldn't use drug store dye but would that be OK in my situation?

I have really dark brown hair naturally and I have only been going once a month but my roots are always orange looking and the rest of the hair is platinum white...what can I tell her to avoid breakage and orange roots?

I dont see any point of dying your hair any color i you have bad roots coming in it looks TERRIBLE... what suggestions (as in need it done weekly) I could do this on a low budget? I have always been attracted to white blonde hair as long as I can remember many people tell you my natural brown looks better but if i did go back it would take me forever to get this light again.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Reverse...

I am origionally a blonde.. 3 Years ago, I changed it to dark brown, leaving some blonde thick streaks underneath and a few thin ones on top, loved it.. Then went fully brown with red highlights...

I had the same problem, the blonde started to look grey on top, hense the full brown.. Every 3 weeks, the roots needed doing and same, the cost was extreme, so I defied the hairdressers, what they are saying is what they put in your hair is semi perminent so it is supposed to be healthier than permanent which is what you buy from the supermarkets...

However, I have been touching up my roots that way for 3 years, and just using a baster, to add a few streaks, tying it up and getting to the back of the roots, without problems.

This helped with the overall of my hair going a lighter brown and therefore, easier to dye back slowly to blonde.

The problem is, is it is damaging our hair, I'm sure your hair is also dry and only gleems when dyed and if you have breakage, it's not good...

I am now, adding blonde streaks and lighter brown, just leaving the dark on the fringe and sides and it's starting to look great... Reason? So that I can eventually be natural but with brown streaks, so my hair is healthier and I don't lose the effect I like, same as you, I prefer brunette but now am warming to both, this way I don't have to be totally blonde again...

So, my suggestion is if it's going Orange, then it's stripping your hair and that's not good. How about, leaving some as streaks, and getting them to do the rest back to brunette, that way, it's only the streaks that ever need doing, costs less, you can touch up those at least on the top yourself, it won't matter if they grow back dark, because that's the look today and your hair will be healthier.

You can buy bleaching kits in beauty stores. For the breakage, there is not a lot you can do. You are damaging the hair as soon as it appears at the roots. You should be using a very good conditioner. Why don't you go back to your natural shade, or maybe a shade or two lighter, and begin getting highlights. Keep getting the highlights and eventually your hair will look very blonde. Maybe you could even quit using the bleach and swap to colour.

In the UK you can buy bleaching kits from boots, superdrug ect. They cost about £8 - £10. You would find it easier to get somebody else to do it for you, but its not too difficult to do yourself.

I'll have to find a place around here that sells to the public im in canada, most of them you need to be a hairdresser but if I got one of those then i could go to my actual hairdresser once every 3 months or something. More reasonable for me.

Why don't you buy it online, and ship it to Canada.

I'm from New England in the States, but there's a chain store here named Sally's Beauty Supply. I'm not sure if it's in Canada or not, but it's like a beauty warehouse. A dear friend of mine is a hairdresser and that's where she'd pick up most of her supplies.
I'm not trying to advertise them, I just know that they carry salon quality products. I'm not sure if you'd have to have a license to purchase certain dye and bleach kits, but if you went and explained to one of the ladies or gents your specific problem, they'd probably be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck!!
