Default I need help when I curl my hair :/

    Hi all,

I have long, thick, straight hair, but when I try to curl it with heated curlers or a curling iron, I very gently comb through it (so that it's not a ringlet), but then the curls become frizzy or there'll be knots to try and tear through (even though I always brush before I curl.)

Any advice on how to get smooth, silky, wavy hair? Thanks!

Too much combing can make your hair frizzy after it's been curled.

After you do each curl put a little hair spray on so hold it in place. Don't spray on too much however, or it will look sticky and kind of plastic.

    Hope that helps a little

I think you need to use a good conditioner and shampoo. If you want it curly, then you should have hair curlers especially if your hair dries frizzy.

    It sounds like,
    we have similar hair types.

I ALWAYS wanted to get some curls to last but never could.

Here's my trick. Use a hair straightner like a chi to curl your hair.
It might sound weird, but it's so easy for me to do and it finally stays!!!

As for the frizzyness. I recommend curl a curl, then hairspray. Don't hairspray before. This will keep the softness of your hair, and it is much better on your curler/straightner.
I also recommend a flexible hairspray.
The best for me thus-far is Dove Flexible hair spray. It keeps your curls intact but you can't even tell there is hairspray in your hair (except for the ever so delicious smell). It's like your hair is just curly.

I can't go a day without this hairspray.
