Default Products for my annoying thick/flat/heavy hair!!!

    Hi Everyone,

I really need some advice. My hair is fairly thick and heavy which causes it to be weighed down and lack volume. My hair dresser commented that my hair was very dry when I went a few days ago and thats because i use very, very little, light conditioner and thats because im scared of it being weighted down. This also makes it very difficult to brush my hair. When I brush my hair it like rips my hair out and really hurts. I know this is kind of damaging but i just assumed it would help thin it out. When i blow dry my hair, its flat at the top and poofs out at the bottom, i guess because my ends are so damaged. I use volumizing everything but she said not to do that because thats why my ends are so poofy. Im so frustrated because i though if you had flat hair you had to use volumizing products. All the volumizing products say they are for flat THIN hair. My hair is anything but thin, so could these products be weighing my hair down? would moisturizing products be better? Sorry for telling you my life story about my hair but I really don't know what to do. Any product suggestion or insight into what to do? THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE

The best thing to do imo is get your hair thinned out or layered, or even both. I am very suprised your hairdresser has not mentioned this to you? Stop using the volumising products and get some 'light moistorising' products. I think Pantene do a line. If not, find products for Dry Thick hair .

    Cool

ya my hair is actually very layered. Most hair dressers do suggest layering to lighten up thick hair. My hair seems to be different though because my layers tend to actually weigh my hair down. I found that when my hair was all one length it was lighter.. my hair isn't thick like asian hair, its just heavy. I know, kind of hard to explain. Ill try the pantene line though, thanks!
