    Default Hair Curiosity?

Hi, i've been pretty curious about my hair lately.. i have a couple questions because honestly i've researched this stuff and i always get different answers on different sites.
The first thing i'm curious about is, (and theres a link below of a picture showing you how long my hair is right now) because if i tried explaining it i feel like you wouldn't be able to understand. In the picture, i have my finger showing where i'd like my hair to grow to. I'm wondering how long it will take? will it be that long for summer? if not, or if so.. how can i help it grow faster? I wash my hair every other day, sometimes when i'm too lazy i'll wash it sunday night... then go two days without washing it.. then wait another day or two days.. it starts feeling pretty gross though so i can't go any longer to wash it, and it starts look pretty greasy and gross.. I've heard if you wash your hair everyday it gets rid of the natural oils in it. So, i try not to wash it everyday.. and the other question is. My hair color is naturally very dirty blonde and i want to go back to my natural hair color, i feel like my stage of dying hair is over lol. But, my roots haven't really lightened up that much... i don't use the special shampoo that helps keep color in.. i really just want to try letting my roots grow out naturally by itself and i don't want to use color strip because i've also heard that's not very good for your hair and it turns it into a really weird orangey color. But, if you could help me out that'd be wonderful. I appreciate your time.. thank you (:

You could try dry shampoo, that will stop the greasy feeling, and you will be able to leave your hair an extra day. It will likely take a few months for your hair to grow to that length, depending on how quickly your hair usually grows.

Hair grows at a rate of about 1/2 inch per month.

Have you considered having a consultation with a well known professional stylist in your area?

If $$$$ is a concern, do you have a "beuty college" in your area? Generally speaking, you can get a consultation from one of the senior instructors at your local beauty college for very little $$.

They may not be fancy like a salon but they know their stuff, stay current on all things new and would probably be willing to share what they know, for little or nothing.
