Default 7 Safe Ways to Stop Acne

The benefits of herbal acne remedies versus the chemical-based or synthetic treatments are numerous. Mostly, it has to do with the side effects of the prescription and over-the-counter products designed to treat the condition. Here is a look at some of the chemical treatments and their side effects, as well as the herbal options.

Apply lemon juice to pimples. Lemon juice is an effective overnight remedy to treat pimples because it contains alpha hydroxy acids, an ingredient that is in many expensive skin care products. To use it as an overnight treatment, first wash your face with a gentle face cleanser. Pour or squeeze 1 tsp. lemon juice into a bowl. If you have sensitive skin, also pour 1 tsp. water into the bowl and mix it with the lemon juice. Use a cotton ball to absorb the liquid, and apply the mixture to your pimples. Leave the lemon juice on your skin overnight. Wash it off in the morning.

The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is also a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin.

There is another method of reducing the swelling of the pimples. Apply the juice of raw papaya along with its skin and seeds on the acne. It is important to use raw papaya.

First of all, to control acne you need to keep your skin clean, for preventing any more breakouts. A good face cleanser can be used. One of the best ones available OTC is Neurtrogena face cleanser. You can carry it with you too, so wash your face with water and the face cleanser at least three times day. If you have an oily skin, then you can go on washing with your water some more times too.

If you naturally have oily skin, you are much more likely to suffer from acne on your cheeks. And this can be troublesome, especially if it feels like you're already washing your face all the time. Even so, there are treatments that can help modify the oil-content of your skin and bring it more into balance, such as various cleansers and creams. Just don't overdo it. Washing your face too much can actually encourage the production of more oil.

Use a moisturizer every time you take a bath in order to nourish your skin. However, use a water based instead of an oil based body moisturizer as oils in cosmetics may clog the pores, thereby causing blackheads and pimples. Natural oils like lavender oil, tea tree oil or jojoba oil can be used to moisturize the skin as they limit the sebum production by sebaceous glands. These oils act as natural acne cures, but work best when applied in limits and in a diluted form as they might cause allergy to acne prone skin.
