Thumbs down Cancerous Lead in Lipstick???

Hey gals! I got this email today and wanted to share it with you. I am not certain how true this is (you just can't be sure anymore), but better safe then sorry I say!

Email:
-------------------
If there is a female you care anything about, share this with her. I
did!
I am also sharing this with the males on my email list, because they need
to tell the females THEY care about as well! Recently a brand called "Red
Earth" decreased their prices from $67 to $ 9.90.
It contained lead . Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.

The Brands which contain lead are:
1. CHRISTIAN DIOR
2. LANCOME
3. CLINIQUE
4. Y.S.L
5. ESTEE LAUDER
6. SHISEIDO
7. RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)
8. CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)
9. MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LI PSTICK.

The higher the lead content, the greater the chance of causing
cancer.

After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L.
lipstick contained the most amount of lead.
Watch out for those lipsticks which are supposed to stay longer.
If your lipstick stays longer, it is because of the higher content of lead
. Here is the test you can do yourself:
1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick color changes to black then you know the
lipstick contains lead.

Please send this information to all your girlfriends, wives and female
family members.

This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical
Center Dioxin Carcinogens causes cancer, especially breast cancer.

I saw this before - Unfortunately it is true. Until my son developed allergies and I started educating myself on products sold in the stores I did not really believe that items containing harmful ingredients to the general public could be sold in the stores. That is why I started with my home business. I feel much safer using products that can not cause harm to myself or my family.

Me too!

Having been off work for several months with RSI three years ago, I spent a lot of time in nature and decided I needed to not only look after my own health, but also do something to help the environment and leave a legacy for my future grandchildren!

I left that job three years ago and started a home business educating people about what they are putting in and on their bodies and down the drains into the ecosystem.

My daughter (now 23 years old) gave me a Mother's Day card last year which said "Thank you for being a great role model". What more could I ask for - especially when I'm just doing what I love?!!

Please contact me if you would like to learn about the world's first extensive range of certified organic skin, hair, body, oral, cosmetic and nutritional products, made in Australia with no toxic chemicals and only 100% beneficial ingredients.

I would love to hear from like-minded people.

Cheers,

Pauline

Default Urban Legend

Hi ladies

I've come across this e-mail several times and it is an urban legend. The Website is quite complete and explains how this legend came about.
Allergies to products are real however and can be explained by lanolin which is not harmful in itself but a common allergen. Cosmetics can also contain trace amounts of aluminum. There is no consensus on how harmful aluminum really is, but it's generally thought best to avoid it (wikipedia has some good articles). Many cosmetics do contain it as it is used as an anti-clumping ingredient in lipsticks and eye shadows.
