Default Is it true that you are not supposed to pluck above the eye brow?

I was always told that you should never pluck above your eye brows, but I went to a new lady for threading and she went crazy up there! I didnt say anything because I was too shy, or thought I was out dated with my "no touching above the brow rule"!

Does anyone else pluck above the brow line?

I've also heard that you're not supposed to pluck above the brow, but I always have. Sooner or later the hairs that you pluck out will stop growing back, and I've noticed this over the years. I don't have to pluck nearly as much as I used to, but I also don't have super thin eye brows where most of it grows back. I just shape mine so they look neat and clean, not bushy and crazy, lol.

It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~

I always thought that rule was to discourage people from overplucking and let them get a higher arch. I am a delinquent eyebrow-groomer, though, so the ability to get out of ANY plucking is good to me :P

I never knew that you weren't supposed to pluck above the eyebrow! Good to know, probably won't stop me from doing it though!

I always pluck above the eyebrows! I think it just looks so much better.

I have always wondered on this one. My mom always tells me not to. But my eyebrows are crazy! Even if I properly shave and form my eyebrow (the lower part), it still looks messy because of the messy hair above my eyebrows. But I asked one make-up artist and she said she doesn't see any reasons why I should not.

I heard this too.. But I do occasionally pluck a few strays. Nothing regularly though.. Maybe it is because spiky hairs above the eyebrows would look and feel odd?

On another note, a girl at work just got her eye brows waxed by what I think is quite a dodgy salon from personal experience.. Anyhow, they waxed above her eyebrows and she had pretty bad pimples for about a week.

There is a difference between plucking and shaping. You can definitely pluck the stray annoying hairs above your eyebrow. But when it comes to changing the shape of your brows, try and stick to plucking from underneath.

    Labyrinth's right.

I clean up strays from above but I was also told by my good friend (an aesthetician) that you should shape from the bottom or you risk taking out way too much hair!
