Default How do I fix a very bad ingrown hair?

I have an ingrown hair near my bikini line and it HURTS so much! What can I do to get rid of it? I am scared to touch it because its inflamed and tender. Any secrets of getting rid of this?

Can you see the hair? My husband gets these very often. Look for the hair loop and with sweezers pull the embedded hair out of the skin, doesn't have to be plucked just the part of the hair that grew down into the skin. Then I push out the fluid, after that you can wash it with an acne treatment. I'm not sure if this is the way of doing it but its what works for him.

I also get to his before they are large and inflamed, I would recommend letting yours rest until the swelling goes down.

A nearly hot or very warm cloth applied to the area will help the advice given above.

The key is finding/seeing the hair first and then trying to remove it.

Make sure you exfoliate the area. I use body scrub and scrub off all the dead skin around 4 times a week. It was the answer. Never had another ingrown hair. I also use lotion keeping my skin nice and smooth.

I exfoliate to help and also use the unscented after-shave from Art of Shaving with vitamin C in it. It's designed for guys' faces but it works SO WELL on my bikini line I apply right after shaving and then as needed/after the shower for the next few days between shaves. I've had fewer problems with itching, redness, and ingrown hairs since I started using it, although I can't guarantee it'd work for everybody. I definitely say exfoliation helps though.

Edit: When I got ingrown hairs in the past I used to yank them out... bad idea! Best to tug the tip gently out of the skin but not pull the hair from the follicle, if you can!

Find someone who does Facials. and Esthetician. I am friends with one and she sells this stuff called Tend Skin. It was about $28 from her but I found some on Amazon for cheaper. This stuff works but you have to apply it a few times a day. I irritated my bikini like from using a self tan that clogged my pores. Happy finding!
attitude..it follows us around. It can be like a smelly sock or a sweet perfume. Others can tell. Be confident.
