How to shape your nail?

When my nails don't have acrylic on them I like to round them. If I do put acrylic I prefer them square. Its funny, I was just talking to my room mate about this today!

I'm not sure exactly what your question refers to. Are you referring to the shape of your nails, as in 'square,' oval, or 'squoval'??? If so, then there is a general rule that is followed when deciding the shape best suited for you nails. Simply take a look at the base of your nails. Look at the shape of them. Some are rather flat, others are well rounded. Everyone's is different, and none are better than the other. Well, the shape of your nails at the tip is usually a mirror image of the shape that you see when you look at the base where the nail meets the cuticle area. Does that make sense? If you shape your nails in a mirror like way, this will give a natural appearance to your nails overall. They will look well balanced this way. If you have a flat looking area of nail at the base, then a pointy or oval shape at the tip would look a bit awkward. And vice versa (sp?).
I hope this helps.
