Poster threaded this In January 2008 and has not returned, asked Anon a member here what he thinks of that "Privately"...

No point replying further. Unless you have the same problem off course.

I've been using this product (SCHWARZKOPF BONACURE: REPAIR RESCUE SEALED ENDS) my hair stylist is using for about 8 months now and it's been working GREAT!!

It's given me the opportunity to just let my hair grow for about 6 months without having to get it trimmed as it helps to seal the ends after every wash.

It's not too pricey and can be found on Amazon. I even use the Repair Rescue Treatment about once or twice a week and it really makes the hair soft.

Bumble and Bumble is also a good product line (Super Rich conditioner) for helping keep those ends from breaking.

    Good Luck!

I am the daughter of a hairdresser and agree with many of the posters before me. No product exists that will eliminate your split ends, products will only smooth the hair cuticle. Honey, You have to cut them off.

I have fine textured hair and when my hair is cut with a razor or hairdressers scissors that have not been maintained (sharpened professionally) I get split ends. That’s when you need to speak up or go elsewhere. Also, to ensure that you keep your spit ends from coming back after you cut your hair, a regular haircutting schedule is needed or in time they will come back, especially if you color your hair. My hair is just past my shoulders, I go every 8 to 9 weeks for a trim.

I have long hair too and I don't cut it and I got loads of split ends. When I was at school, there was this girl who had long hair and she used to trim just a little bit I don't know how often but she used to say that she was getting rid of split ends and helping her hargrow.

I'm no sure how true this is, but maybe a trm will keep away the split ends and possible make your hair grow faster?

And my mum started being a vegan, and ever since, her hair and nails have been growing really fast. So if you don't want a cut because of the growing thing, diet and even a small trim apparently help (you might want to look for more information if you're interested in it though, I'm not 100% sure)
