Default No estrogen pills and weight gain?

I suffer from mirgraines, so i have to take "pops" also known as non estrogen BC. My question is will i gain weight from it? i gained weight while i was on regular BC so will this have the same effect on me?

I don't want to scare you because everyone reacts differently to different pills but I had a terrible time on the POPs. I was taken off of the Yasmin I had been on for over two years when I developed migraines with aura and was put on POPs. The first couple of weeks were okay but after that it went downhill. There is no estrogen and they are all active pills so i was bloated constantly to where I was in pain and my clothes did not fit me anymore. I spotted a few days in between during the month and then had no period even though it always felt like I had my period with the bloating. I dont' know about actual pound gaining, but like I said I was so bloated that my clothes were not fitting me. I had gained about five pounds on the Yasmin which was not even noticable but i was visibly retaining water all of the time of the POPs. My breasts went up a size as well. I also was overly emotional (maybe because I did not feel well) and had dizzy spells all of which i never had on the combined pill. The POPs are less effective than the combined pills as well and with all active pills I never had a period so I was constantly anxious about being pregnant. My poor husband didn't know what to do with me. My sex drive which I admit was never super high went completely out the window. tried to give i time but into the third month I could not take it anymore and got off of the pills all together for about two months. I have now been on Loestrin 24 for three months, going on four, and things have been much much better. I was willing to go back on a combined pill and just deal with the migraines and take my chances rather than feel like I did on the POPs. Fortunately my doctor reluctantly agreed to try Loestrin since it does have such a small amount of Estrogen in it. I have not had any more migraines and I am back to my normal clothes again with no more dizzy spells or extreme bloating or emotionability and I get a three days period every month like clock work. Good Luck. I hope you find what works best for you as I know it can be extremely frustrating.
