    Question info on Micronor....?

Just wondering if anyone else takes the birth control pill Micronor and if they have had any effects or problems with it. I've been taking it for well over six months now and everything seemed fairly normal, however my last period was 12 weeks ago now. I have taken two pregnancy tests, a month apart and both showed negative. I really don't think I am pregnant... recently have been extremely active, lost about 20lbs and am under a lot of stress with work. I do know stress can change your cycle but for this long?
    Any thoughts???

Sorry if you saw this twice, I accidently posted it under another category!

I have been on Camila (generic Micronor) since July. I really do not like it - I have not had a 'period' since being on it. You have to take it at same time EVERY day. It has 5% failure rate, especially the first year, which makes me paranoid, so I use contraceptive film as backup. In September, I got really sick - waves of chills, fever, dehydration. All kinds of tests were run, and it came back a severe kidney infection. I attribute this to the film, not the Camila. I just miss taking the ortho-novum, but my age and blood pressure make taking that impossible now. Last month my husband got snipped, so we are waiting on two sperm counts of zero and I am kissing Camila goodbye.

I developed migraines with aura while on Yasmin so I was on Micronor a few months back for two months and then I had to stop because I could not take the side effects adn I also was extremely paranoid about the 5% failure rate. I too did not have a period while on it and when I stopped it I did not get one either for another two months. I was extremely bloated to where my clothes would not fit and I was in pain most of the time. I also started having severe dizzy spells a few weeks into it. I tried to go the three months to see if it would pass, but by the end of the second month I was a wreck. I am now on Loestrin which which has been much better for me and has even low estrogen than Yasmin. I think it was the lack of estrogen that was bad for me.

I'm glad I found this thread. I have been on Errin (generic for Ortho Micronor) for over two years now. I have had had only ONE instance where I could say I had a period, and I would barely call it that. I had spotting for a few days, very LIGHT spotting. And that's it. Other than that, it is easy for me to take it at the same time every day, in the morning, before work and on the weekends I always wake up at that time also-give or take a half an hour. So in general I do take it at the same time every day, within an hour. My fiance and I are sexually active and I haven not become pregnant.

Overall I love not having a period (in two years!) and both doctors I have seen said this is okay. I'm due to go in again here shortly and will ask again. Other than the lack of a period, I experience no other side effects other than maybe a slight loss of sexual appetite, which could be due to other factors.

I used to take Errin as well, and I didnt get a period for over three months. It totally freaked me out. Also, i stopped wanting to have sex at all, not even by myself and when I did I was super dry.

I couldnt take the fear of pregnancy, especially since these pills stop the only reassurance u may have which is your period.

Now im trying the copper t iud...dealing with infections but thinking i might just wait it out cuz otherwise i dont know what else to do.

Hmm, well, it sounds like these are effective conception control alright. I mean if you don't want sex and are dry, you aren't too likely to get pregnant!

    Cool Micronor rocks!

I LOVE Micronor, I've been using it for 3 years now and it's amazing I have no side effects at ALL!!! The best part about it is not having a period, I haven't bought any female products for 3 years, you know how much money I save
I started taking it because normal BC with Estrogen was giving me major headaches, like throw up all the time headaches....gross!

I love everything about it, the only bummer is that I can only be on it for 5 years. The reason for that is that there might be a slight risk of it causing Osteoporosis. So I take Calcium/Magnesium pills everyday to combat that, just in case
If you can live without the extra Estrogen (unfortunatly some women can not) then I say go for it...you won't regret taking Micronor. Just be careful and make sure to take it around the same time everyday.

I started taking this pill in the begining of febuary, at first it seemed to be working fine and I loved the fact I wouldnt have periods, and never went throught the spotting phase or anything. I started to break out really badly into spots which is unusual as I dont suffer from spots so I think its down to micronor. I am really snappy, and get quite emotional, and lost all of my sex drive. I started to forget to take it and started missing the 'allocated' time to take it. I have now come off micronor as I didnt like the side effects. I didnt havent a period whilst on it and I still havent had one. My lower abdomen is visibly swollen. Would you say this is normal or that I am pregnant?
