On BC but spotting 5 days earlier than expected period date? Why?

Hi,

I'm sure this question comes up a lot but I would love some insight on my condition specifically.

I've been on Yasmin28 (I believe even hormone pills) birth control for a year now without any complications except for a late period with my first month of use. I'm on my last week of hormone pills before I start taking my placebo pills this Sunday. I've noticed I've been feeling a little bloated the last couple days and was cramping slightly yesterday. Today I notice some spotting when I wiped, a mix of brown and pink (nothing to warrant even using lining). I have today's hormone pill to finish and shouldn't be expecting my period until the following Wednesday. I've never had problems with spotting in the past, even when I first started taking birth control.

Does anyone have any insight on why this might occur? I know its no pregnancy scare because I haven't been sexually active since before my last period, and that one was regular and on time without any spotting. The only thing I can think of is I've been under a lot of stress the last couple weeks (uni papers, exams, work stress, etc). Suggestions?

I have had that same problem, except I know that I missed two pills, but I usually double up for two days in a row (and get a nasty freakin headache in the process). I too have been under a tremendous amount of stress, and I too am taking Yasmin28. I started a full cycle a week and a half early, so now I don't know if I should just start a new pack of pills on Sunday or what. I hope I don't get pregnant...
