    Default Mirena question

It's the weekend and I'm about to go out of state for christmas, so i can't make it into the doctor.
I'm not sure if it's a huge deal or not though...
I've had mirena for a little over a month now, whenever I have sex I spot lightly afterwards for about an hour, ussually bright red. Then after the hour, it gets kinda heavy and is ussually done in a few hours.
I have been spotting/bleeding off and on since my period started 2 weeks ago. I am aware that prolonged and irregular bleeding the first 2-6 months is normal.
But is the bleeding after sex like this normal???
I had called the nurse last week because the first time we had sex after having this, It was alittle painfull and then i had the spotting after, but it was only a tiny bit, not like tonight. the nurse said not to worry and that he was bumping my uterus, that my body hasn't adjusted completely yet because it's still wanting to expel the device.
I have had it checked as well, the doctor couldn't find the strings but looked at a CT scan i had from a few days before showing that it was in place properly so we decided not to go through with the sonogram. She said the strings probably got pushed up into my cervix.

i tend to be a very overly causious person, and i havent had the best luck with doctors. I need to make sure that the things i'm going through, the pain, bleeding/spotting, and the string being pushed up, are normal, or common in some way. The sex doesn't hurt as bad anymore, but the bleed tonight was just weird.

I had Mirena for almost a year and I never bled during/after sex. Sex was not comfortable for me or my husband. The one problem I didnt have was bleeding issues. I would suggest posting your question on

Mirena IUD Forum: Side Effects, Birth Control, Support, Class Action, Mirena IUD Side Effects: Page 97 of 97

There are so many women on there that had different issues with Mirena. Maybe someone there has good advice.
