Default Teenager with migraines & yaz

My 16 year old has had chronic migraines starting almost 2 years ago. We've been to a specialist & she's tried many preventative and triptan medications. She started on Yaz (after 2 other bc) and is having her first period after 4 months. Our Family doctor (who has a daughter with migraines) has told her to just stay on the Yaz until her body tells her it's time for a period (after 2 days of bleeding). So now she is having her period and she is miserable- headaches and intense neck pain. While the Yaz hasn't fixed the headaches they do seem less intense. She seems to be less angry and moody on Yaz. I've read all the different issues people have had & no doubt it's all very personal depending on each person's body. My daughter has not had guardasil yet, although we plan on it. I think, as with the whole autism & vaccination issue, it might be a timing issue. With all the issues my daughter has had, and those of other teenage girls, I can believe that hormones have a major role in so much of the ups and downs. My daughter has been an athlete- swimming has been her sport and now she has a shoulder injury- probably a result of swimming even though she has had headaches. Her neck had remain tense and then the shoulder got injured. So she is being treated by a sports medicine doctor and has PT twice a week (for almost 3 months now). The problem is that her neck is so tense she is in a lot of pain. Is this a Yaz issue, a hormone issue, a life stress issue? I'm thinking we just need to see how this runs it course. The plan I would have for my daughter is to just be on the Yaz for a few years until the hormones stabilize. When I tried bc pills 30 years ago, they made me depressed. I have had a copper-t iud before and after my two children and I love it. I would agree that we need to believe in the goodness in our daughters (despite the temperament issues which can be sooo difficult) and keep trying to help them. Good luck to all.

(sorry for bringing up an older thread, i know that can be a pain on other forums)

k, so i actually have a question about yaz for others who have been on it. about a year ago i went to my doctor telling him i always got severely depressed around my period. so he put me on yaz, saying i had PMDD. so i took it for the 3 months, and it was actually working pretty well so i went for another prescription. on the 4th month, i noticed a lump on my left boob, and i noticed it would shrink and grow depending on whether i was taking the pills or placebos. i asked my doctor and he basically told me there was nothing he could do about it, it's not abnormal for women to develop "cysts" and they can get bigger or smaller depending on your hormone levels.
has anyone else had this problem? it was the first birth control i had ever used so i was assuming it was just the brand. but i got put on tri-cyclen last month after being off yaz for months and it just kinda stayed there, and now that i'm on another pill it's still doing the same thing. anyone else have this issue? it's suuuper uncomfortable, like i want it removed but my doctor just said it's not worth it cause of the scar tissue and it's possible it could re-appear.
