Thread: need a little help with my stubborn husband

Ok I just had a Baby 4 months ago. My pregnancy was a nightmare i swelled like a balloon and my face wasnt even recognizable, and I was put on bedrest for like 3 months, So needless to say I don't want to get pregnant again. We always wanted only one child, and definately can't afford 2. So my problem is that my husband refuses to use a condom. He just pulls out and im afraid thats not going to work very well. I can't use birth control cuz it makes me go insane.lol. but he says the pull out method is 70% effective. He insists that a doctor told him so. Any ideas how i can convince him otherwise? im only 20 and i don't need two children yet

There are low-hormone treatments you could try, such as Mirena. I've seen mixed reviews on this site, but have been very interested, myself. My doctor said he wouldn't recommend it simply because I have not yet had any children, but would do the procedure if I wanted. He said it was the safest IUD he had seen on the market and he had seen no women with ill effects, but could not comment on whether or not there was a risk of permanent sterility, because he hadn't yet seen enough women trying to conceive after having the Mirena removed.

Additionally, a vasectomy is quite a simple procedure, and these days, the reversal rate is pretty good, if the two of you ever changed your minds.
