OKay Im 19 and I've been pretty sexually active here lately and I think I should start taking some kind of bc. We use condoms but they've broken and come off and I don't want to have to worry all the time. I want a back up. When I was 15 I was put on ortho low I think (im not sure of the name) and it made my body crazy. I was depressed for a week b4 my period. I would cry at times for no reason. I gained 15 lbs. After about a year on that I switched to yaz. Yaz was somewhat better. I only gained about 5lbs but I had crazy mood swings. It gave me headaches and for some reason I had nose bleeds a lot so I stopped taking it. I haven't taken anything up until now and I feel like I need to start something. I've read about Nuvaring and it seems okay but the side affects that women talk about of clots and stuff are kind've scary. I've never really heard of the IUD thing and I don't know much about it. What do you guys think would be a good option?

Go in and talk with the folks at planned parenthood. Usually women who've had a baby are the best candidates for an IUD. I did really well with a plain non-hormone one. But everyone is different so talk to the experts.
