During my first month of taking Loestrin 24 FE. I had breakthough bleeding.
It started in the second week of active pills all the way through to the beginning of the third week. During that week I called my Dr's to see if I should be concerned because the bleeding was definatly like a lighter version of my period, I was using light tampons throughout the day. And it would usually be soaked through by 4 or 5 hours. Then at night it would quit, and restart in the morning. My dr's office told me not to worry about it, it's common and to let run its course. It could lasts for 3 months. So it didn't give me much hope...but I'd figured it would go away. It did in like a week, and then after a week with no bleeding, I had my "period" during the placebo pills.
So I now am on my second pack, i'm in the second week again and the same breakthrough bleeding has started. It's a bit lighter this time but still fresh red looking blood, in the early morning and afternoon I need a tampon, but it usually subsides by nighttime and returns again in the morning.
I have 2 more sample packs after this one, and then I'm supposed to have a follow up visit. Should I just stick it through these 2 more packs and hope for the best before I make a hasty desiscion. Other than bleeding everyother week, these pills don't have any other weird side effects. I hopin after the first few months it quits...but it's like clockwork almost happening at the same time...is this just an early sign these pills won't work out for me?
I was just hoping someone could give me so additional inside on this issue. Has anyway else experienced this? Did it typically go away after the inital 3 or 4 cycles?
Thanks!
