i just came across this website and found it to be very informative. Especially on birth control cuz i have a few questions.

    1) can/would being on birth control for too long affect one's fertility?

    2) I tend to have this problem where i can't seem to get wet enought during sex with my bf, which just kills the mood for us. are there any other bc options out there for me or do ALL birth control pills do that? (i'm on ortho tryclen) .

    3) I was thinking of maybe getting on ortho tryclen lo for fear of having too much of those hormones in me (im worried bout any long term effects). from yall's experience, is it less/more effective or the same in preventing pregnancy?

thanks and sorry for all the questions!!!

hmm...thats a tough one...I would talk to your doctor about the dryness...that could be a major sign of something seriously wrong.

My doc put me on "Nuvaring"....works pretty well!!! Ask your doctor what is "best for you " (look at meee...I sound like a Television AD)

and questions are good!!! NEVER be afraid to ask anything on here

I agree with the above poster.

I was on Ortho Tricyclin to begin with. I have to say that it absolutely sucked for me. Also , in the fine print you'll find the prolonged birthcontrol use can temporary affect fertility , in some cases up to a year after you have discontinued use.

I am currently on NuvaRing , and I love that.

Either way , talk to your doctor about everything. Do some research for yourself and ask all the questions you want , even invite your boyfriend to come up with some.
And the dryness , I can admit that depending on the week of my cycle , the birthcontrol aggrivates that , but if it is continual there may be an issue
