Thread: Iud + period question

Greetings Ladies ,

I have had an IUD since May 2006. I initially did not have a cycle, mostly spotting for a few days only. I'll say within the last year especially, I have a normal "spotting" cycle anywhere between 22-26 days (I've never been regular). My cycle also has become longer (around 7 days and used to be 4-5 days) and I cramp like crazy the first two days. Most recently, I started spotting very lightly on 03.24.09 late in the evening. I spotted just a tad but cramped more. I barely made a spot on my pad the following day but cramped some. That Thursday brought on cramps and bleeding. Not heavy, but steady at times with bad cramps. Sometimes it was darker than others. I'm still bleeding now ! Not heavy at all but it's still here. Should I totally disregard the first two days of light spotting but only cramping? This is the first time it's went past 7 days (if I should truly count those first two days).

I forgot to add that I have the mirena iud, no kids. I just had my yearly in December and all looked well.
