I've been taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for nearly a year now (previously took regular Ortho). I take it about the same time every morning, although recently I have been a little more lax (taking it within an hour of the same time every day instead of within 10 or 20 mins of the same time, which I guess compared to a lot of women is still a pretty militant schedule). I get spotting before my period every once in awhile, and I have had some weeks where I have started having a faint light brownish discharge on the Monday before my placebo week (I'm on a Sunday start), and then got a regular withdrawal period during the placebo week as normal.
So far since my last period my boyfriend and I have had sex twice; once a couple of weeks ago and once a few days ago.
I noticed a light pink discharge today but I'm not due to have my withdrawal bleed for a week. I've never had light pink before, usually brown - which made me a little bit nervous. Has anyone ever experienced a change in the color of their spotting or breakthrough bleeding like this?
I don't really have any other symptoms that would suggest I was pregnant, but I am a little concerned about the color change and wondering if its normal and anything to worry about. I plan to pick up an early pregnancy test just in case. I was a little worried that it was implantation bleeding, possibly from when we had sex two weeks ago, but after doing some reading up it seems like that is uncommon in most women so I'm not sure about the likelihood.
The only other change I can think of is that I've been exercising more than usual this month and eating differently; I eat pretty healthy anyway but I've been trying to lose a few pounds before going on vacation so I've been eating more veggies/salads and less carbohydrates, drinking more water, and taking vitamins. Maybe this is a factor? Thanks for any input![]()
