Default birth control pills giving multiple periods

hey i would like some advice, my girlfriend has taken birth control pills in the past but stopped mainly because they caused her to almost allways be bleeding. She has very recently tried starting taking the pills again and after only 3 days she is getting signs of bleeding when her period is not due.

She is from thailand and lives there, before starting the recent attempt she consulted a doctor and was given some "expensive" pills to try but the doctor said if she started getting more than 1 period a month again she should stop.

I am from england and from my limited experiance with birth controll pills i was under the assumption that they are designed to stop a period compleatly and in my girlfriends case it seems to be the opposite.

Unfortunatly i dont know the name of any of the drugs shes taken in the past or now but if anyone has any recommendations that would be great. One thing i was thinking is possibly seeing if some brands of pills from england or europe might be better as the range of pills available in thailand may be inferior to those available in england.

Would it be best for her to "wait it out" and see if the new pill "settles down" once shes done a month cycle or if she is bleeding after onyl 3 days is that sure sign that this is not the pill for her?

    Thanks

She seriously needs to go to another Doctor.

The Pill is meant to give us ladies a break and the best pills ease things with as little discomfort and bleeding...

I had such a huge time as a kid, i mean huge...

It seems to me her previous Doctor neglected to say " I don't know if these will work, I am worried that they won't but um, what else? ok, ".....

    He said
doctor said if she started getting more than 1 period a month again she should stop.
She has not headed this advice?

This Doctor "did not know" tried.... gave a hopeful cure......

Send her off again, it's painful, you don't feel lovey duvvy, it's frustraiting, it makes a person feel down, depressed....

Don't worry about what she is on, not on, get her to someone that says, ahh i have seen this before....

And, maybe even goodle ( outbound links aren't allowed) bleeding on birth control pills constantly....

It's great you want to support and help, I hope it's emotionally as well as her well being..

    She needs you.

she has stopped using the pills yes, and i think your assumption is correct. I can fully expect that the doctor she has visited doesnt really know much about the topic. He is probably just a GP, and with an ovbious more specific problem she would be better visiting a specialist.

she has also considdered using other BC methods such as an implant as her sister uses that and works ok for her. However she is worried that getting an implant may make her have a perminant period for 3 months. Is this at all remotely a possability?

    Thanks
