I haven't myself - and until recently I never knew any one who had. However my neighbour, her mother and her sister all got pregnant while on a standard mixed pill. (Not at the same time, of course. That would be an episode of Dallas) It must be something genetic unless all three of them are terribly forgetful but then forgot they were forgetful
Sorry - that was an attempt at a joke. I believe they took their pills properly.
I didn't ask about her mum but my friend did have a 'period' despite being pregnant - though she said it was a bit lighter than normal. Her sister must have as well because she had no idea she was pregnant until she miscarried at 12 weeks
My friend is now on a 'high dose' pill that is, so far, working for her.
If you're at all unsure of how your pill is working for you go back to the doctor who prescribed it and discuss your worries and what other contraception options are available to you. I have no idea if there is any way of measuring how well a pill is working for you, how effective it is for you, other than by not getting pregnant.
It is rare though - that's just three genetically related women out of all the women I have know over 35 years, and I'm a gregarious soul. The combined pill is 99% effective when taken properly.
