I started my period about a week ago at the end of my 2nd week of active pills on Yasmine. I had a back ache and was given medication (Muscle relaxers and a pain medicine (No Cillin's) and as soon as I stopped those pills I started my period. I have cramping every day that hurts and take ibuprofen to relax me. Another reason I suspect it is all messed up is because I started this pack this month late, on a monday instead of a sunday so i took 2 pills on Monday. That also happened 2 more times that I forgot although on different days and not in a row. Do I continue taking my active pills until this saturday? I'm sick of having my period, and how long will this "period" last? Next week is my inactive pills stage and the time I am supposed to get my period. Are these worrisome symptoms?

Every time you miss pills and start them when you aren't supposed to, you are throwing off your hormonal balance. When you start taking the pill, it takes time for your body to balance out the new hormone levels. This takes time... some times months. Since that takes time by itself, you are making it worse.

You have got to be more strict with yourself. Be sure to take them as instructed or your period will never become normal. You are going to probably have to give it a few months of regularly taking your pills before you see a regular period.
