    Default Want to start BC but missed period

    I started dating a man and things progressed and we had sex using the pull out method. I know the pull out method isn't effective. He was unable to maintain an erection with a condom. I stupidly risked it. It technically shouldn't have been around my ovulation time because I was expecting my period any day. I normally have a 27-28 day cycle and my last period was 5/4. We had sex 6/30. I wasn't on BC so I called my Dr. and got the RX so I could start the Sun after my period came. Well my period still hasn't come and that was 3 weeks ago. A few days late isn't uncommon, but 3 weeks is. I have taken 3 HPT's (one just this morning) and they have all been negative. I have no pregnancy symptoms either. I am overweight so I started a diet (healthy eating actually) on 6/1. I've been stressed out because the new BF dumped me after getting some. I figured the diet and the stress is what is causing the missed period even though they all started at the same time. I really don't have the time or the money to go to the Dr. My last annual was in Dec and everything was fine.

    I am wondering... since i'm 99% sure I am not pregnant, should I start taking the BC pills anyway and hope they fix me? Or could it be dangerous to start BC pills on an irregular schedule? I am 32 years old if that helps.

    I don't think you are pregnant either - but if you're not planning on having unprotected sex then I'd leave off taking the BC pills till your period does start. (when you say your last period was 5/4 and you had sex 6/30, I guess you mean you had sex on 5/30 - 6/30 is next week )

    Your body seems a little mixed up at the moment - throwing hormones in to the mix is just not something I'd do. It might bring you back on track, but also it may well complicate things. If you can't get to a doctor for advise then my opinion is to let nature take its course first.

    I'm sorry your bf ended things - it does sound like you might be better off without him.
    Now let us sport us while we may; / And now, like am'rous birds of prey,
    Rather at once our time devour, / Than languish in his slow-chapp'd power.
    Let us roll all our strength, and all / Our sweetness, up into one ball;
    And tear our pleasures with rough strife / Thorough the iron gates of life.
    Thus, though we cannot make our sun / Stand still, yet we will make him run.

    Thanks...Funny how i'm better off without all of my ex's... If only I knew before I got started. LOL

    Yea maybe extra hormones is a bad idea. I guess i just want my period to come so I can stop freaking out on the "What if's". Stress is a crazy thing and Lord knows I have poor stress management. I need to just relax. A nurse friend told me to just wait until I skip month # 2 before heading to Dr. So I guess another week of waiting.

    Thanks
