I started using Nuvaring about 4 months ago. My partner seemed to be having a skin reaction to the Nuvaring, so we tried taking it out while having sex, but still occasionally had problems. I also had bleeding occasionally. We checked out the many forums about Nuvaring and came to the conclusion that he/I might be allergic to it. Completely by accident one day he realized that he might have a yeast infection. It seems that the bleeding I had and his skin irritation was all due to yeast infection, and the solution seems to be for me to take acidophilus caplets (available from a health food store).
