Hey everyone, I'm new here. Basically I just need some reassurance.
I have been on Microgynon 30 for four months nearly. I've had problems on and off during the whole thing, the first month was pretty hellish (as to be expected) the second month was a dream and the third and fourth months have been pretty bad.
Basically my main problems were to do with my stomach and my bladder... My stomach has become very sensitive and I feel nauseus a lot, particuarly when I eat a heavy meal or have a few alcoholic drinks (which didn't happen before). As well as this everything in my body seemed to speed up... I had loose stools a lot, and I urinate all the time which leaves me feeling really dehydrated. As a result of these things, as well as being stressed out about it all, I have lost 17lbs in weight. In the past two months I have experienced PMS two weeks before and up until the period is meant to arrive. I had thrush as well. Oh and I've gone from being the heaviest sleeper ever to not being able to sleep through the night... and I can't lie in anymore.
Needless to say I want to get off this pill... my doctor has prescribed Yasmin to help me, she said it has the least side effects. First of all, do you think this is the sort of pill to sort me out? If I lost weight on Microgynon, will I put on weight with Yasmin or will that not change? I wouldn't mind putting a bit of weight back on... Has anyone on Yasmin had any good/bad experiences, particularly those who have switched from something else TO Yasmin.
One last thing, when switching pills, are they are undesired side effects during the transition? My doctor advised me to start Yasmin when my period starts for contraceptive reasons, but I'd rather wait until the 7 day rest is up and start when I am meant to start so I don't mess up my cycle... my boyfriend and I have decided to use back up for the whole first month just to be safe. Will I have breakthrough bleeding and will I have another extra side effects?
Sorry for the long post...I just want to feel well again. If anyone can answer any questions for me and educate me a bit on the subject I'll be so grateful.
